Step & Standards Block Builder
Turn a procedure you already follow into three blocks a reader and a retrieval agent can both extract: the steps, the standards you work to and how each one is verified, and the mistakes that cost people most. You supply the substance. It formats it.
Step block (visible)
Standards and verification (visible)
Pitfalls and how to avoid them (visible)
HowTo markup (optional)
Add this only alongside the visible steps above. It describes the same procedure in machine-readable form.
How to place these blocks
- Put the step block under a heading that states the task, and keep the steps in the order a fitter or buyer would actually follow them.
- Keep the standards block separate. A step tells someone what to do; a standard tells them what proves it was done.
- Only list standards you genuinely work to, and only write a verification you can point to in a record.
- Pitfalls are the part readers quote most. Write the mistake plainly, then the correction.
What this tool cannot do
- It cannot tell you which standards or regulations apply in your market. That is your responsibility, or your engineer's.
- It cannot verify compliance, inspect a record, or confirm that a step is sufficient for your task.
- It will not invent a step, a standard or a citation to fill a blank line.
Questions
Where do the steps and standards come from?
From you. The builder formats the procedure and the specifications you provide. It does not know your industry, your site or your obligations, so it never adds a step or a standard on its own.
Is the HowTo markup required?
No. It is optional, and it should only be added when the same steps are visible on the page. Search engines have reduced how often they display how-to results, so treat the visible block as the part that matters.
Can this replace a compliance review?
No. It formats text. It does not assess whether a procedure meets a standard, and it cannot substitute for a qualified engineer or an auditor.
Does it store what I enter?
No. The blocks are assembled in your browser and nothing is uploaded.
Built and maintained by the same team that publishes this site. It formats what you provide. It does not promise rankings, rich results or citations.
